Paul Jorgensen

Having lived in and produced large-scale art and music events across America, South Africa, and Australia, Paul Jorgensen is a truly global citizen. His extensive career includes composing music for film, television, theater, dance companies, and interactive art installations.

Paul served as the principal sound designer for Zoink Productions in Atlanta for eight years, a tenure that culminated in the Emory University Theatre Department’s production of Approaching Simone. He also assisted with the Atlanta productions of Karen Finley’s A Certain Level of Denial and both Atlanta productions of Spalding Gray’s monologues. His music has been featured in two seasons of The IT Factor for Bravo Networks and continues to be licensed for shows on Discovery+, Pandora, Pandora Plus, and Pandora Premium.

He has been the recipient of national state grants in both South Africa and the United States. In addition to producing music for numerous dance companies, his background in post-production includes work with Guillotine Post Design in Atlanta and Film Garden in Los Angeles. During this time, his music was utilized in various productions and interactive media projects.

Over the last 40 years, Paul has released original music on cassette, CD, and vinyl. While living in Australia, he founded the independent boutique label Key Field Recordings to produce original vinyl releases branded as unique pieces of art. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, including the Indigo Girls (Jesus Christ Superstar), Kamaal Malik (Arrested Development), Jarboe (Swans), and Pauline Oliveros.

As a performer and writer, Paul has been a member of several bands, including His Body (Los Angeles), Turbid Blue and With Injuries (Atlanta), CRASH (New Orleans), and AppleBite and Baysie Mays (Australia).
